Regular Meetings

Regular Selectboard meetings are held the first and third Thursdays of every month at 6PM. Regularly scheduled meetings are recorded by Hardwick Community TV (HCTV) and are available through their website.

Duties

The Selectboard is the main legislative body of Hardwick’s local town government and is responsible for the general supervision of the town’s affairs. The Selectboard acts as the official legal representative for the town, and performs three primary responsibilities. They are:

• To enact town ordinances, regulations, and policies;
• To prepare and present a town budget and tax rates for the town;
• To preside over quasi-judicial matters including, but not limited to: hearing local board of health appeals, acting as the local liquor control board, town right-of-way decisions and re-classifications, and personnel matters.
