Request for Proposal- Engineering Services for the Town of Hardwick
The Town of Hardwick is soliciting proposals from qualified engineering firms for the design and engineering services required to replace the Fisher Folly Bridge. Fisher Folly Bridge was a town-owned single-lane structure located off VT Route 15E and was destroyed during the substantial rain event on July 11, 2023, which caused widespread damage throughout the Lamoille River watershed. The Town of Hardwick Police Department is accepting applications for the following position:
Patrol Officer
The Town is seeking energetic, positive professionals with a strong desire to provide quality police services to a progressive community. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, possess exceptional moral character, strong work ethics, be able to pass the Vermont Criminal Justice Training Council’s (VCJTC) physical fitness test, the VCJTC entrance exam & psychological evaluation (MMPI). Applicants chosen to proceed in the hiring process will undergo an extensive background investigation, to include a polygraph test and interviews with the Chief of Police and Town Manager. Current full-time (Level 3) certified officers are encouraged to apply.
Current labor contracts provide for competitive wages and benefits including health insurance, life insurance, a generous amount of accrued time off, and participation in the Vermont Municipal Retirement System. Day, night, weekend, and holiday work required. This is a Union position.

The East Hardwick Better Connections Process is a community-based effort to identify projects to revitalize East Hardwick. Recommendations address:
• Pedestrian and bicycle pathways
• Improved signage and parking
• Initiatives to strengthen Village vitality
The draft report also addresses ways to integrate green stormwater infrastructure into Village streets and sidewalks, while addressing key stormwater runoff issues at and around the Main Street Bridge.
