Hardwick Conservation Commission Seeks Members

The Hardwick Conservation Commission (HCC) seeks two members to join their team. The mission of the HCC is to establish community responsibility for Hardwick’s natural resources.

The Hardwick Conservation Commission’s work is to conserve and protect natural resources in the Town, to educate folks about our natural resources, and to provide activities to enjoy and value our natural surroundings.

The HCC meets on the second Monday of each month from 5-6:30 p.m. at the Hardwick Memorial Building. Feel free to attend a meeting to see what it’s like before you decide. If you are interested in joining the HCC, please send a brief letter of interest addressed to the Hardwick Select Board. Email to casey.rowell@hardwickvt.gov or drop off at the Town Manager’s office located at 20 Church Street in Hardwick.

Currently, the HCC is ready to present Hardwick’s first Natural Resources Inventory to the public March 23 at 2:00 at the Memorial Building and is sponsoring a Learn About Tracking event at the Hardwick Trails from 10-12 on March 30. The HCC will also offer tree seedlings by donation and have lots of free information, as well as sponsor a float, at Hardwick’s Spring Festival. Other events are in the planning stage.
