Use of ARPA Funds

Select Board members have been getting a lot of questions about ARPA funds and suggestions for how they might be used. The Town has until December 31, 2024 to decide how the funds will be spent and then until December 31, 2026 to actually spend them. We thought this information might be helpful to Town residents.

These are the only qualified four areas of which funds can be used for:

  1. To respond to the COVID-19 public health emergency or its negative economic impacts;
  1. To respond to workers performing essential work during the COVID-19 public health emergency by providing premium pay to such eligible workers of the recipient, or by providing grants to eligible employers that have eligible workers who performed essential work;
  1. For the provision of government services, to the extent of the reduction in revenue of such recipient due to the COVID–19 public health emergency, relative to revenues collected in the most recent full fiscal year of the recipient prior to the emergency; and
  1. To make necessary investments in water, sewer, or broadband infrastructure.

Anyone is welcome to come to the Selectboard meetings if they wish to discuss this or other matters. They meet the 1st & 3rd Thursday of each month at 6:00 p.m. at the Memorial building and attendance via Zoom is also available. Agendas are available on the Town’s website under the Selectboard page.
