The Town of Hardwick (in partnership with Heartbeet Lifesharing) is considering
making an application to the State of Vermont for an Implementation Grant under
the Vermont Community Development Program. A public hearing will be held at 20
Church St in Hardwick, VT at 5:45pm on September 5, 2024 (3rd Floor), to obtain
the views of citizens on community development, to furnish information concerning
the amount of funds available and the range of community development activities
that may be undertaken under this program, the impact to any historic and
archaeological resources that may be affected by the proposed project, and to give
affected citizens the opportunity to examine the proposed statement of projected
use of these funds. The proposal is to apply for $112,587 in VCDP Funds which will
be used to accomplish the following activities:

• Care of Vermonters with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Support for employment of staff at Heartbeet Lifesharing as well as
  opportunities for supported Vermonters to access and work in the
  surrounding communities.
• Provision of increased services (residential supports, community supports,
  employment supports) and support of costs related to staff recruitment,
  onboarding, training, and operational set-up costs for a new residence.
